Blurred Lines Lawsuit Wins Battle Against T.I.!!!

Robin Thicke’s hit Blurred Lines ended up costing the pop/R&B singer $5 million plus quarterly royalty checks for life but now the Blurred Lines Lawsuit Wins Battle Against T.I..

If you remember, The Grand Hustle rapper claimed that he only was a featured artist on the song, but the Marvin Gaye Estate was NOT hearing that and they filed a second lawsuit against Clifford Harris.

They already got Robin Thicke and Pharrell Williams to pay for their clearance error and now it appears a judge has given them the green light to move forward with the T.I. lawsuit.

CelebNMusic247.com has this report via The AJC:

A judge has ruled that Atlanta rapper T.I. actually can’t do whatever he likes, at least when it comes to being a part of the 2013 hit song “Blurred Lines”.

In March, a jury found Robin Thicke and Pharrell Williams, who sing on the song and are listed as co-writers along with Clifford “T.I.” Harris, guilty of copyright infringement and ordered them to pay $7.4 million in damages to Marvin Gaye’s family.

A judge rejected Thicke and Williams’ request for asked for a new trial.

He also ordered that Thicke and Williams now only owe $5.3 million in damages, and that T.I. and record labels including UMG Recordings and Interscope should be held liable for damages.

The Hollywood Reporter reports, T.I. and the record labels will share in the $3.2 million damages tab, but won’t be held accountable for lost profits.
