Atlanta Exes Season 1 Episode 1 Recap
Tonight on Atlanta Exes Season 1 Episode 1 we were introduced to a new cast of ex wives who live in the Atlanta area and were married to Usher, Cee Lo, Ne-Yo, Kevin Hart and Ray Buchanan.
The episode kicks off at Tameka Foster and Usher’s old home. She is packing her bags and reading to move after her very public divorce in which Usher had forced her to vacate the mansion. In this episode it doesn’t play out this way, instead Tameka make reference to the Atlanta home finally being sold.
Over the weekend Usher came forward to reveal that Tameka was his biggest mistake, but in the episode it is clear that Tameka is NOT over her ex-husband since she gets called out by one of her girls for holding on to Usher’s leather pants. Altanta Exes introduces the ladies (Christina Johnson, Monyetta Shaw, Sheree Buchanan and Torrei Hart) as they come to help Foster pack her clothes, the only problem is she is expecting her friends to do it for her. While the women try to help Tameka pack up her things before moving, Tameka becomes extremely overwhelmed and emotional
Not only do we learn that Tameka is NOT over Usher, we get to see the relationship between CeeLo and Christina Johnson. They are very much friends, even though CeeLo has a new woman in his life. Christina tells him that she wants to date, but he feels it has to be someone he approves of.
We learn that Ne-Yo’s ex Monyetta Shaw still live together raising their sons, but his mother thinks she needs to get back on the saddle and start dating. Loraine feels that will either wake her son up or make him happy that she’s moved on. As for Torrei Hart, she has moved back to Atlanta to reinvent herself and to pursue a career as a stand up, since she and Kevin shared that. She even reveals that she meant Kevin when he was a sneaker salesman and hadn’t even begun doing comedy.
Tameka is the Jackie Christie of this series, she is opinionated, manipulative, rude, and slightly snobby when it comes to her castmates, so we know who the villains is in Atlanta Exes.
