Alien 5 Concept Art Revealed!!!

According to director Neill Blomkamp the new Alien 5 Concept Art Revealed and so far things are going well as he continues his successful campaign of hype.

We previously told you that Neill Blomkamp and Sigourney Weaver teamed up to reboot one of her most successful sci-fi franchises, Alien. Weaver has been wanting to return to her role as Ripley ever since the third installment went left and she was NOT happy with the direction the franchise took.

Then when Prometheus hit screens, Sigourney campaigned that she wanted to be a part of the film, but that never happen. Thankfully fate brought Sigorney and Blomkamp together on the film Chappie and the rest is history. The two like minds had such passion for Alien that they started working on a reboot which will pick up right after Aliens.

Fans of the franchise won’t have to worry, because they are taking account for Alien 3 and Alien: Resurrection – this installment will be a prequel/sequel, so fans who LOVED Aliens will get a second chase to dive back in and get their feet wet with its AWESOMENESS, before the film flatlined with Alien 3. And yes Lt Hicks and it’s NOT confirmed but Bill Paxton has been gunning to return to his role as Hudson. Basically, he’s been rather wish-washy about the matter, saying his film is a “genetic sibling” to Aliens, making it clear that he’s not a fan of where the franchise headed after the second entry.

Earlier today Blomkamp posted his first photos of the concept art for Alien 5, saying:

“#alien going very well. Love this project…”

Blomkamp essentially willed the film into existence earlier this year when he posted some compelling concept art to social media. Perhaps it was his way of pitching via internet, because one clamorous fan response and a big press tour later, things got very legit and Blomkamp ended up at the helm of the Alien resurrection (sorry) as director of the first Alien film in nearly 20 years.

While there is little known details about the direction Blomkamp is heading with his Alien movie, this new piece of concept art continues the exciting trend of featuring iconic Alien franchise characters Ellen Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) and Corporal Hicks (Michael Biehn), who seemingly perished in Alien 3.

Whatever the case, the prospect of another Alien film with Ripley and Hicks at the top of the call sheet is incredibly exciting – he’s spoken before about wanting to give Ripley’s story proper closure, and if he’s still putting their likeness on his concept art after officially attaching himself to the film, things are looking good. Whether or not Blomkamp can pull off the goliath task of living up to some of the most beloved sci-fi films of all time is less certain. His credits are the brilliant, District 9, the socially conscious Elysium and Chappie films both floundered in the box office.

We blame some of that to the trailers, which we feel were completely misleading of what the film was truly about, District 9 kept it straight up from the jump, from the trailer leading to the films debut. We’re NOT sure if it was the studio or Blomkamp who made trailers that mislead movie goers, so by the time they went to the movies they walked out hating the film because the trailer made it seem like a completely different film.
