Alexander McQueen HIV Admission Revealed In New Book!
In a new book “Champagne Supernovas,” Alexander McQueen admitted he was HIV positive before he killed himself in 2010.
In 2010, British fashion designer Alexander was discovered dead today after taking his own life. The industry was left reeling after the 40-year-old’s suicide this morning, which comes just days after the death of his beloved mother, Joyce. It is also just three years since his close friend, style guru Isabella Blow – who plucked him from obscurity and helped him become a star – killed herself, according to the DailyMail.
Now 4 years have passed and CelebNMusic247.com has learned there is a new tell-all-book about Alexander McQueen by the Post’s Maureen Callahan.
In the book “Champagne Supernovas,” Callahan says that Alexander made the admission to friend Chris Bird at a party a few years before his death.
According to the new book, here’s how Bird responded to McQueen: “I just sort of said to him, ‘Well, that was bloody stupid, wasn’t it?’
And he just said, ‘Yeah.’?”It was rumored his HIV status was one of the factors that drove the designer to commit suicide, along with drug use and depression.
Callahan will give a reading of the book at the Strand bookstore in Union Square on Tuesday evening.
