CelebNMusic247.com reports that family member who called police claimed that Carter had made some troubling comments last week around the time news emerged that he had broken up with girlfriend Lina Valentina.

After autorities got word, they were called to carry out a welfare check to make sure Aaron Carter was not a threat to himself.

Sources say the family member was concerned Carter had been doing drugs and was at risk of overdosing.

It was reported by TMZ that Carter’s family reportedly feared he was going to take his own life or harm someone else.

The Daily Mail reports:

Police went to the home but found that everything was okay regarding Carter.

Sources linked to the singer claim his ex-girlfriend, a Russian artist, may be responsible for calling the police.

They said Valentina had been living at Carter’s home despite them breaking up.

Sources say she was angry when he apparently asked her to leave on Wednesday.

In a statement announcing their split, Carter said he was really hoping their relationship would ‘be the one that lasted forever’ but it did NOT.

His statement reads:

We had even talked about having kids, but we couldn’t seem to get past our differences and the relationship eventually turned unhealthy. I’ve been through so much the past few years and am trying to learn from my mistakes.
