Aaliyah: Princess of R&B Biopic Gets Early Release
The long awaited Aaliyah biopic for Lifetime Aaliyah: Princess of R&B Biopic Gets Early Release date of November 15.
The Lifetime biopic Aaliyah: Princess of R&B, which is produced by Wendy Williams was originally slated for February 2015, but Network heads thought it would be best for the start of the holiday season.
Lifetime posted a tweet from the channel’s verified twitter account stating:
And Wendy Williams confirmed the tweet on her show yesterday.
Alexander Shipp will portray the singer, who died in a plane crash after shooting her last video “Rock The Boat” in 2001. Chattrisse Dolabaille and Izaak Smith are slated to portray Missy Elliott and Timbaland, respectively.
The film, which is also set to cover the singer’s marriage to R. Kelly, is reportedly based on Christopher Farley’s book Aaliyah: More Than A Woman.
