Karl Urban Says Dredd 2 Will Be A Prequel
At a recent conference at the Chicago Comic-Con Karl Urban spoke on the the possibility of a follow-up to Dredd, and how it will most likely be a prequel.
CelebNMusic247.com has learned that Karl Urban followup to Dredd will most likely be a prequel instead of a sequel. Despite the first film being a major box office flop, Dredd has a HUGE following of hardcore of fans who genuinely revere it, and sure enough, Urban was asked about a possible reprise during an appearance at the Chicago Comic-Con.
Here is what we are hearing about the possibility of a Dredd 2:
Urban is hopeful of another Dredd film saying:
“Why yes, there is a definite possibility.”
“but it is more likely that we will do the origin story with Dredd trekking through the Cursed Earth to find the first Chief Judge Fargo.”
It’s encouraging that Urban is still keen, although with the first film only taking a $35 million worldwide gross, on the back of a $50 million budget, it would be a surprise to see a second film greenlit.
If fans continue to push, and Urban remains willing to discuss the possibility, there’s always a chance Dredd 2 will happen somehow.
