Survivor Lead Singer Jimi Jamison Dead at 63
Eye of The Tiger singer, Jimi Jamison has died at 63 after suffering from a heart attack in his Memphis home.
The bands website posted this statement after the shocking news that Jimi Jamison died:
“Survivor is very shocked & saddened by the passing of our brother Jimi Jamison. Our thoughts,love & prayers go out to his friends & family.”
CelebNMusic247.com has learned via TMZ that Jamison’s booking agent, Sally Irwin, confirms that Jamison died of a heart attack at his home in Memphis. He had just performed with the band Saturday night in Northern California.
Jamison joined Survivor in 1984 (after their smash hit “Eye of the Tiger“) but was the lead singer on other classic songs like, “The Moment of Truth” (from “The Karate Kid”), “The Search Is Over,” and “Is This Love.”
Jamison did sing a later Rocky classic the workout playlist staple “Burning Heart” from “Rocky IV.”
