Casey Kasem Dies on Father’s Day
Legendary radio personality and Shaggy of Scooby-Doo actor, Casey Kasem has passed away on Sunday, June 15 -Father’s Day.
Casey was one of the United States’ most famous radio DJs and a cartoon voice of all time. He was 82, CelebNMusic247.com has learned.
Kasem had been suffering from Lewy body dementia, a degenerative disease similar to Parkinson’s, and had been hospitalized in critical condition. Durring that time his family have been involved in an ugly legal battle over his health care and visitation rights.
We have also leaned via E!Online that a judge had ruled that Casey’sdaughter Kerri Kasem, who was in charge of his care, be allowed to implement end-of-life measures for the ailing radio personality, against the wishes of his wife and her stepmother, Jean.
Casey is survived by Jean, Kerri, other daughters Julie and Liberty, son Mike, brother Mouner and sister-in-law Mary and ex-wife, Linda.
She said on her Facebook page, alongside a throwback photo:
“Early this Father’s Day morning, our dad Casey Kasem passed away surrounded by family and friends.”
“Even though we know he is in a better place and no longer suffering, we are heartbroken. Thank you for all your love, support and prayers. The world will miss Casey Kasem, an incredible talent and humanitarian; we will miss our Dad. With love, Kerri, Mike and Julie.”
