Apple Seeks New Deal with Dr Dre‘s Beats
After news broke this week that Tyrese Instagram video killed the Beats By Dre deal with Apple word traveled fast that Dr Dre would no longer be the first hip hop billionaire.
We previously reported that Dr Dre was too loose the Apple deal after a pre-celebration video appeared on Tyrese Instagram showing them partying and crip dancing which apparently scared Apple. They felt the video would tarnish the brand, what they forget to realize that Apple consumer are people who crip dance and party.
Now, CelebNMusic247.com has learned that Apple is still hungry for Beats Electronics and wants to strike a new deal with a $3 billion acquisition of Beats Electronics, a headphone and music streaming specialist along with Dr. Dre and recording impresario Jimmy Iovine.
On Wednesday a new announcement surfaced nearly three weeks after deal negotiations were leaked to the media. This will still be one of the most expensive acquisition in Apple’s 38-year history, a price that the company is paying to counter a threat posed to its iTunes store.
We are hearing that the break down of the deal is as follows, $2.6 billion in cash and $400 million in Apple stock that will vest over an unspecified time period.
The deal between Apple and Dr. Dre and his recording impresario Jimmy Iovine is expected to close before the end of September.
With $1.1 billion in revenue last year, Beats is already making money and will boost Apple’s earnings once the new fiscal year begins in October, Apple CEO Tim Cook said in an interview.
Good news for Tyrese, since Apple is striking a new deal with Dr Dre, because that would suck to have that hanging over his head for life.
