Mayor Antonio R. Villaraigosa has issued a proclamation announcing Saturday, September 29, 2012 as Smithsonian magazine’s Museum Day Live! in the city and county of Los Angeles.

On Museum Day Live!, people can access over 1,500 participating museums nationwide for free including some of Los Angeles’ most important institutions by downloading tickets online.

Jennifer Hicks, Group Publisher, Smithsonian Media, said:

“We are honored that Mayor Villaraigosa has issued a proclamation for this year’s Museum Day Live!”

“We are thrilled to have so many museums in the Los Angeles area participating in Museum Day Live! such as the California Science Center, The GRAMMY Museum at L.A.
