Explorers Getting Remake
We’re NOT sure if many of you remember one of the best and underated Joe Dante’s 1985 sci-fi film Explorers that launched the career’s of Ethan Hawke (The Purge) and the late River Phoenix (The River).
CelebNMusic247.com has found out that Paramount is set to remake the 1985 sci-fi film Explorers through their low-budget Insurge label. Its was set in the town of Petaluma California back in the day, the same place American Grafitti was filmed.
The original story was about three young teenage boys who come together to create a home-made space ship (the third kid was played by Bobby Fite). The film unfortunately experienced the perils of rushed production and hit the box office as a flop.
Despite the flop at the box office, Explorers is still a great family fun film for parent to have their kids watch. The movie is about dreaming, hope and coming of age. No matter what obsticles they face the three boys overcome whats thrown their way. It’s an all around fun film and one of CelebNMusic247.com’s favorite kid films.
We hope the remake will give the tale another chance to reach audiences. As for the Plot details for the remake – They are being kept under wraps, but Paramount has hired Geoff Moore and Dave Posamentier to write the script, as Heat Vision reports.
