Fashion icon Kenneth Cole took to his Twitter sounding off with a controversial and cringeworthy remark using the possibility of U.S. military intervention in Syria to sell shoes!
Kenneth Cole has waded into controversy on Twitter after he sparked a frenzy with the following slogan “Boots On The Ground Tweet To Promote Footwear.”
The inappropriate slogan rose eyebrows and drew controversial attention with a tweet that appears to be using the possibility of U.S. military intervention in Syria to sell shoes.

The tweet appeared on Cole’s personal account (his company, named after himself, tweets as@kennethcoleprd).
Amazingly, this isn’t the first time that Cole has sparked controversy with a Middle East-related tweet. Back in 2011 during a time of Chaos in Cairo he tweeted this:
After that tweet Cole himself was forced to apologize on Facebook, writing:
I’ve dedicated my life to raising awareness about serious social issues, and in hindsight my attempt at humor regarding a nation liberating themselves against oppression was poorly timed and absolutely inappropriate.
