(CelebNMusic247-News) A-Rod Hit By Pitch:
In the top of the second inning of tonight’s game between the Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees, embattled slugger Alex Rodriguez (A-Rod) was scheduled to lead off.
On the first pitch of his at-bat, Red Sox pitcher Ryan Dempster threw behind A-Rod. The umpire did not issue a warning, and many thought the message had been delivered. On the next two pitches, Dempster came inside again. No contact, though. With a 3-0 count, however, there would be no mistake. Dempster drilled A-Rod in the elbow.
The umpire then warned both benches but did not eject Dempster. This made Yankees manager Joe Girardi livid. He was ejected, but that didn’t stop him from screaming at Dempster.
The Yankees took advantage of the free baserunner, bringing Rodriguez around and adding a second run to tie the game. In the next inning, Sabathia did not retaliate.
In the top of the 6th inning, A-Rod retaliated the best way he knew how, by crushing a leadoff home run off Dempster to straightaway center. After hitting the home run, Rodriguez gave Dempster a stare and then posed at home plate, pointing to the sky. The Red Sox fans were not pleased.
