(CelebNMusic247-News) Oprah Gets Apology Trudie Goetz And Swiss Tourism Agency
Recently a story about Oprah Winfrey explained how an encounter with a salesperson at a boutique in Zurich left her feeling discriminated against.
Apparently, when Oprah was trying to take a look at a crocodile leather Tom Ford bag, she was told by a snobby salesperson that she could not afford it!
Well Oprah left and took her Amex Black card elsewhere!
Now Trudie Goetz, head of the Trois Pommes boutique where the encounter took place, claims it was all a “misunderstanding” between Oprah and the sales associate.
Basically the boutique is trying to save face, explaining:
“This is an absolute misunderstanding. Any sales person would love to sell a crocodile bag. She simply explained [to Oprah] that the bag she wanted to look at was beautiful but in a very high price range and suggested lower priced models in leather, ostrich and so forth. It was a misunderstanding. The staff member who welcomed Oprah is one of the hardest working and regularly deals with VIP clients. There was no discrimination. Of course, she [the salesperson] speaks English, but not as well as her mother tongue. It was a real misunderstanding.”
Doesn’t this remind you of Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman when the sales staff looked down at her and told her she couldn’t afford the clothing.
Now were not saying Oprah is some type of Pretty Woman, (escort) but the boutique must have a bunch of Swiss Cheese all over their face since O is a billionaire and now they’re looking stupid.
Like we say, stupid is as stupid does! Get this, the apologies from the Swiss didn’t stop with the boutique. The Swiss Tourism Agency also issued a statement apologizing about the matter:
“We are very sorry for what happened to her, of course, because we think all of our guests and clients should be treated respectfully, in a professional way.”
To make things even weirder, Goetz was also a guest at Tina Turner‘s wedding that weekend!
