Gronk put a number on the family he and Camille Kostek want one day — and said the couple is “all in” on making it happen.
Rob Gronkowski has a plan for the next chapter, and it has nothing to do with a comeback. During a Tuesday, Oct. 27 interview with Craig Melvin on the Glass Half Full podcast, the retired tight end, 37, said he definitely wants to become a father one day, per People. Asked how many kids, he did not hesitate: “I would like two, maximum three,” he said, per People.
Gronkowski added a very Gronk detail. He would love to have girls, he said, but he needs at least one son to “carry on the Gronk football tradition,” per People.

“We’re all in”
The part that matters most is that this is not a solo wish list. When Melvin asked whether he had talked it over with Camille Kostek, his girlfriend since 2013, Gronkowski answered, “Oh yeah, we’re all in,” adding, “There’s no doubt about it,” per People.
He pointed to the life already around them. “And my brothers have kids,” he continued, per People. “We love being around them, and they got to have some cousins to play with eventually.” EssentiallySports, covering the same podcast conversation, reported Gronkowski praising how Kostek is with his nephews and her own nephew, and saying he believes in marriage — “I basically am married. We work, we operate like that,” he said on the podcast, per EssentiallySports.
A relationship that started in secret
The longevity is part of the story. Gronkowski and Kostek met at a charity event in 2013 and first went public in 2015, per People. Kostek was a cheerleader for the New England Patriots at the time, so the couple had to date in “secret” so as not to violate the team’s rules, per People. “The football players don’t get in trouble, but the cheerleaders get kicked off the team,” Kostek said in July 2025 on Kristin Cavallari’s Let’s Be Honest tour, per People.
Kostek has been open about timelines, too. Back in May, she told People during an episode of WAG World that at 21 she thought she would have been married with kids by now, and that she sometimes judged herself for feeling “behind.” She recalled Gronkowski’s mother telling her when she had her first child — at 22 — before reminding her that “everyone has their own journey.” Kostek’s takeaway, per People: “There is not a book of life. There is not a right way to live and a wrong way to live.”
That context makes Tuesday’s comments land differently. This is not a couple dodging the question. It is a couple that has talked about the timing in public, on both sides, and keeps arriving at the same answer: kids are wanted, the number is set, and it happens on their schedule — not the internet’s.
On the field, Gronkowski won four Super Bowls, three with New England and one with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, before walking away for good. Off the field, the uncle era is apparently going well enough that he is ready to talk about the promotion.
The 247 Take — Thirteen years in, Gronk and Kostek did not announce a baby or a wedding date, and fans should not invent one. What they did announce is rarer: two people fully on the same page, saying it out loud, with the cousins already waiting.
