The Academy Awards biggest blunder of the night marked a milestone for black films in Hollywood. PricewaterhouseCoopers messed up on Moonlight being the winner for Best Picture.
The fiasco had many in Hollywood in shock since that was a first in the 83 years PricewaterhouseCoopers has overseen the Academy’s ballot-counting process. Read their apology…

CelebNMovies247.com was shocked at La La Land winning best picture, but when they announced Moonlight was the real winner we were revealed and overjoyed.
Moonlight is one of the movies that truly makes you feel every emotion, every thought, as you journey through struggle, pains, perseverance and love. It was an amazing movie that everyone NEEDS to see.
The only problem we have with the way that Moonlight won, was that Barry Jenkins and everyone involved in the movie didn’t get to truly enjoy the win. It was stolen by a mistake that could have been taken care of. Even Best Supporting Actress winner Emma Stone thought it was strange that a mix up occurred.
Why didn’t a producer of the Oscars stop Betty and Dunaway from reading the wrong ballot?

Why didn’t Beatty and Faye Dunaway read the fine print on the outside of the ballot? Didn’t Beatty see the mistake, he could have said hold, I have the wrong ballot?
The Caotic Mess-Up caused by PricewaterhouseCoopers in detail:
Simple things that got over looked and instead La La Land producer Jordan Horowitz was interrupted midway through his La La Land acceptance speech. A stage hand standing in the wings of the stage said:
“Oh f**k. Oh my God. He got the wrong envelope.”
Horowitz announced:
“There’s a mistake. Moonlight, you guys won best picture….This is not a joke. Moonlight has won best picture.”
Warren Beatty explained:
“I opened the envelope and it said: Emma Stone, La La Land. That’s why I took such a long pause and looked at Faye, and at you…I wasn’t trying to be funny.”

Now, PricewaterhouseCoopers are apologizing for the unforgettable and history making moment that The Oscars want to forget, but can’t.
PricewaterhouseCoopers released this apology:
“We sincerely apologise to Moonlight, La La Land, Warren Beatty, Faye Dunaway, and Oscar viewers for the error that was made during the award announcement for Best Picture.”
PWC continued:
“The presenters had mistakenly been given the wrong category envelope and when discovered, was immediately corrected. We are currently investigating how this could have happened, and deeply regret that this occurred. We appreciate the grace with which the nominees, the Academy, ABC, and Jimmy Kimmel handled the situation.”

Moonlight director Barry Jenkins weighed in after being blindsided, saying:
“Even in my dreams this could not be true. But to hell with dreams! I’m done with it because this is true, oh my goodness.”
He added:
“And it is true, it’s not fake. We have been on the road with these guys for so long and that was so gracious, so generous of them. My love to La La Land. My love to everybody. Man.”
While a bewildered Best Supporting Actor winner Mahershala Ali told the press:
“La La Land has done so well and has resonated with so many people. When their name was read, I wasn’t surprised, and I was really happy for them. I did see security or people coming onstage and their moment was being disrupted in some way I got really worried and then when they said ‘Moonlight, you guys have won.’ It just threw me, more than a bit.”
“I didn’t want to go up there and take anything from somebody. It’s very hard to feel joy in a moment like that … but I feel very fortunate for all of us to have walked away with the best picture award. It’s pretty remarkable.”
Thoughts?
