Just when you thought this wouldn’t happen, Mel Gibson is in talks to direct the DC Comic live action movie Suicide Squad 2!!!

We can just hear the uproar with DC Comics fans who are definitely not happy about the Mel Gibson news…

The Hollywood megastar has gotten a second wind in Hollywood and Warner Bros. has decided that Mel Gibson could be an asset to Suicide Squad 2.

Gibson is riding high thanks to his Oscar-nominated war movie Hacksaw Ridge, so he’s being courted by Warners marking a remarkable turnaround for the actor-director. This is what he needed, but is this what the Suicide Squad franchise needs?

Wait, don’t give them yet. CelebNMovies247.com has also learned that Warner Bros wants to make the fast-tracked sequel, although a deal is not yet in place. So Gibson is apparently studying up on Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Katana and the rest of the Squad.

There’s no doubt that Gibson is an accomplished director with a strong Hollywood track record, but is he the right choice for a super villain anti hero movie?

Why Mel Gibson May NOT Be a Good Fit:

Despite Mel Gibson’s keen eye directing, DC Comic fans are afraid that he might ruin the DC Extended Universe franchise with his bad reputation. If you recall, Mel took a hit in the 2000s after a drunk driving arrest and anti-Semitic comments. He soon found himself on the out of work actors list.

Then, Gibson nab a cameo in The Hangover: Part II — a movie made by Warner Bros., but a backlash within the studio and parts of the cast ended with him being cut.
