CelebNMovies247.com has learned that Bad Boys 3 was originally set for a November 2018 release. Even though, this sounds like the end here is what we’ve learned according to Sony.
The studio is now saying that the Bad Boys 3 has not been cancelled and that “the script is still being worked on”. As for Will Smith, its also been reported and confirmed that Will Smith is still “interested” in the project.
Bad Boys For Life Pushback History:
We previously reported that Bad Boys For Life and Bad Boys 4 were announced in August 2015. It was also said back in 2015, that Bad Boys For Life was set for a February 2017 release. Then, it got subsequently moved back to early 2018, and then to the November date. It was also revealed that there would only be one sequel since Bad Boys 4 was dropped from the schedule in February.
Now, all of that is out the window since, A-Team director Joe Carnahan pulled out in March, citing “scheduling issues.” That left the studio scrambling for a director. When the realized that they still had the director’s seat empty, despite the three names under consideration they pulled it from the release slate. Let’s not forget that Carnahan put an end to rumors alleging that he and Smith’s feud ended BB3.
Sony Juggles Release Dates and Removes Bad Boys 3 Details:
Gamespot reports:
The sequel starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence has been pushed off Sony’s release slate. This news comes with a whole bunch of new release juggling, which first and foremost affects Sony’s Spider-Man spin-off Silver and Black.
Just a few days after new Silver and Black plot details emerged, Sony Pictures has given it a new date, pushing it out of late 2018 and into early 2019. The studio has moved the Silver Sable and Black Cat adventure from October 19, 2018 to February 8, 2019. While no exact reason was given for this release date push, it will now put the movie up against Warner Bros.’ The LEGO Movie 2, with another Warner Bros.’ movie, Isn’t It Romantic and an untitled Fox/Marvel film arriving on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2018 and Universal’s Bride of Frankenstein arriving February 15.
