Evil Dead remake is the MUST see horror film of 2013!

I have to say I am pleased with the Evil Dead remake because this time around all the characters in the film had motivation for their actions and the film had a stronger storyline.
Federico Alvarez was spot on with the remake, he pushed the envelope of gore and disgust a step further as the five innocent souls are taken over by a demon and forced to do the unthinkable from the Book of the Dead (Necronomicon).
This time around we follow David (Shiloh Fernandez – Red Riding Hood) and his girlfriend Natalie (Elizabeth Blackmore of The Road Home and the CW’s Beauty and the Beast) who go back to his families abandoned cabin in the woods. There we meet Mia (Jane Levy of Suburgatory and Fun Size) who has been brought there by their childhood friends Eric (Lou Taylor Pucci of HBO’s Girls and The Story of Luke) and Olivia (Jessica Lucas– Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son – Cloverfield) to help Mia kick he heroin addiction. It’s a simple plot line that actually works very well with the films recreational trip into the woods. The four friends are committed to keeping Mia from leaving as thing take a wrong turn and evil things begin to happen.
The movie makes perfect sense this time around sparing nothing when it comes to complete horror, blood and guts. From cutting flesh, and riping or cutting off limbs the Evil Dead delivers the goods. Its been a minute since i’ve seen such a disgusting film the not only brings you gore but brings fear, keeping you squirming in your seat. I really don’t want to give anything away about this film except prepare yourself to be scared, grosed out as the blood splatter gets messy!
If you are a horror fan like myself then this is your go to movie for the weekend.
