Soffi Tukker just came off a mammoth North American tour with M83. Now Sofi Tukker have now begun to cast their gaze across the internet.

The duo grabbed everyone’s attention this year with their funkified, space bass bossa nova track “Drinkee”. The addictive track has just gotten a fresh facelift courtesy of production maestros The Knocks. The track is a tropi-tude and laid-back sound all mixed in its reverb-drenched glory.

If you wondered how it all got started Sophie Hawley-Weld told HP:

“I was playing acoustic bossa nova music in a trio and Tucker was the DJ that night. He came early and saw what we were doing and ended up remixing one of my songs on the spot…We have been working together ever since!”

Tucker Halpern weighed in saying:

“Her songs were beautiful but painstakingly slow, so I had to spice it up a little and it ended up sounding really cool.”

From there it’s been a magical blend of genius that birthed Sofi Tukker.  Their journey started with their first song “Drinkee” which drew everyone in from more.

Tukker also released a video for the smash hit in July, which can be seen below:

That is NOT it for the duo, they followed “Drinkee” with the playful electropop track “Awoo” featuring Betta Lemme”, according to COS:

Sofi Tukker’s groundswell of notoriety continued to expand as their infectious hypnotic music continues to take music lovers on journeys of global experiences. Not since Dee-lite has a duo captured our attention.

They are now working towards the release of their debut EP Soft Animals with the release of a second single, titled “Matadora.” The song is a sonic interpretation of a poem by the Brazilian poet Chacal. It features a backbone drumbeat that hits like a heard of hooves and the melodramatic wail of an Andean string instrument called the charango. – Clash Music
