CelebNMusic247.com has learned that Johnny Depp tried to blame his former business managers, but they FIRED BACK with their own lawsuit against the actor.
According to them, the Pirates of the Caribbean actor spends more than $2 million a month to maintain his lavish lifestyle. Apparently that is the real cause of his recent financial troubles and that the star ignored their repeated warnings.
Jack Sparrow’s former business managers, The Management Group, filed their counter suit in Los Angeles Superior Court two weeks after Depp sued the company alleging it grossly mismanaged his earnings.
Ouch!
The lawsuit revealed that Johnny Depp paid more than $75 million to buy and maintain 14 homes, including a French chateau and a chain of islands in the Bahamas.
Who needs 14 homes? maybe 3 to travel back and forth from, but the other 11 are hopefully rentals. But in Johnny Depp’s case they’re NOT.
What a waster!

There’s more, Depp also spent heavily to buy a 150-foot yacht, fly on private jets and cultivate collections of fine art. He also bought lots of Hollywood memorabilia that require 12 storage facilities to maintain.
Huh?
The lawsuit also states Depp was repeatedly warned by the company that his spending was out of control. The versatile actor ignored his former advisors’ advice to control his spending. The lawsuit stated:
“Depp, and Depp alone, is fully responsible for any financial turmoil he finds himself in today.”
Johnny Depp is seeking more than $25 million in a suit which he filed against The Management Group on Jan. 13. he contends his money was mismanaged by The Management Group!
Was it, Johnny, was it?
Per USA Today:
His lawsuit also alleged the company failed to file Depp’s taxes on time, costing him $5.7 million in penalties. Tuesday’s counter suit said Depp’s tax returns were always filed on time, and taxes were paid when the star had money available to pay them.
The company handled his finances from 1999 until early 2016, an especially lucrative period in the actor’s career.
During that time, Depp launched the blockbuster Pirates of the Caribbean franchise and other big-budget releases, including Alice in Wonderland and the 2005 film Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
CelebNMusic247 weigh in:
Recently, Depp and Amber Heard split, costing him $7 million. Plus his former management teams counter suit seeks a judge’s ruling that Depp is to blame for his financial troubles. They want $560,000 in fees The Management Group said it is owed. His former managers also want $4.2 million the firm announced on Jan. 13.
Johnny Depp has a new Pirates coming out and if things are as bad as they sound he’s hopefully has a solid contract with residual payouts along the way.
