BFD Standouts

This year Live 105 BFD  Standout were withing a sea of mellow bands compared to prior years that truly rocked with alternative rock bands. The layout of the Festival was similar to last year which really worked well.

We have to tell you that the fans, staff and everyone we came in contact with was with unexpectedly courteous which is a big plus. The lines into Shoreline for BFD moved well and so did the stands. Fans appeared to enjoy themselves at all the stages and respected each other’s space. They had handicapped seating and truly catered to all.

Our Live 105 BFD Standouts below:

BFD StandoutsThis year’s line-up was spread over 4 areas with 5 stages like last year. CelebNMusic247.com started with the Festival Stage which was two side by side stages that allowed for bands to alternate back and forth. Fans could easily see all the Festival Stage bands as well as move over slightly to the Subsonic Dance Tent for some EDM. The acoustics worked perfectly and you could hear all the bands no matter what stage they were on.

Finish Ticket and The Story So Far were two of our early day favorites. In fact, in talking with live 105 fans, they also thought they stood out the most. As the day grew warmer, the crowds got bigger and Shoreline was hopping. Wolfmother rocked out the BFD Standoutsafternoon with their high energy and head-banging hair and gained many new fans with their awesome set. The Festival Stage area closed with longtime favorites Bad Religion who were a must see for most of the fans. Bad Religion continues to “bring it” with their polished melodic rock tunes and past hardcore punk sounds.

The BFD Standouts for the Subsonic Dance Tent had audiences jumping in the air with energetic fans dancing the day and night away. CelebNMusic247.com had a few favorites. Our first one was Night Riots, who surprised audiences with their hypnotic alternative tunes. The electronica BFD Standoutssounding Joywave brought audiences to their feet and the captivating Blaqk Audio, who were reminiscent of New Order, were simply brilliant. Nightmare gave us another standout performance with their mesmerizing set. The music was pumping through everyone’s veins and the crowd was going wild for a true subsonic experience. We did not get to see much of the local band stage, but we did catch a stellar set from SWMRS. Fans were also impressed by Scene of Action. The day went very fast and before you knew it, the time had come for the main stage.

The BFD Standouts for the Main Stage opened with the “Electric Love,” Borns who got the crowd on their feet followed by The Naked and Famous who sang many hits such as “Punching in a Dream.” The Auckland New Zealand band were reminiscent of Bjork and The Sugar Cubes and sounded incredible. The center slot BFD Standoutsbelonged to the LA based alternative rock band Silversun Pickups. The guitars and vocals were great, but you really have to be a fan as they give you raw music and nothing else. Silversun Pickups had to shout out to the audience and tell the audience to stand up, which they did. As the night grew darker, fans lifted their Budweiser “multi-light sabers” in the air to brighten up the night. Looking into the lawn and around the amphitheater, you got that true concert experience and it looked incredible. Fitz and the Tantrums was next with their BFD trifecta and they were “off the chain” with more choreographed dance moves and BFD Standoutsstage enactment with the audience. They were energetic fun and on point delivering favorites such as “Hand Clap and “The Walker.” During the day, most of the fans we spoke to said they were at the festival for The Offspring who headlined. From the moment the band took the stage they engaged with fans with riveting music and went into full drive rock momentum. The Offspring delivered with hit after hit such as “You’re Gonna Go Far Kid,” “Pretty Fly,” “Come Out and Play” and “Self Esteem, which truly rounded off the night. Live 105 produced another fantastic music festival for everyone. We were happy to be a part of it and are already anticipating another great show for 2017.

Shoutout to KP for such a great time. Thank you.
