Dorinda Medley is taking her show on the road — her words, and this time she means it literally. The Real Housewives of New York City favorite announced a six-city book tour for her new book, “I Know a Thing or Two About a Thing or Two: Advice for a Well-Rounded Life,” arriving November 17 from Gallery Books.
Dorinda Medley Wrote the Guide She Lived
This is Dorinda’s second book, after 2021’s “Make It Nice” — and the title tells you the whole philosophy. Per the publisher, it’s a no-nonsense, deeply personal guide to confidence and resilience: turning life’s challenges into joy, and learning that you don’t need it all — and don’t need to be perfect — to make it nice. After sixty years of love, heartbreak, success, setbacks and reinvention — businesswoman, mother, wife, widow, Housewife, radio host, DJ — she has, in fact, seen a thing or two.
The cover says it before a single page does: Dorinda in a black blazer, headphones around her neck, holding a yellow power drill in one hand and a plate of lasagna in the other. DIY and dinner, disco ball and ring light. That is the brand.
Six Cities, and the Book Comes With the Ticket
The tour she announced on Instagram opens on release day, Tuesday, November 17, at 6 PM at Bookends Bookstore in Ridgewood, New Jersey, then hits the Strand Book Store in New York on Wednesday, November 18 — a 7 PM release event in the Strand’s Rare Book Room, with signed copies available. From there it’s St. Louis on Thursday, November 19 (7 PM CT at The Novel Neighbor), Providence on Friday, November 20 (6 PM, Reading with Robin at Studio Flowers) and Boston on Saturday, November 21 (7 PM at Trident Booksellers), and the run closes Tuesday, December 1, at 7 PM at Sixth & I in Washington, DC. Every event is ticketed, and per her announcement, every ticket includes a copy of the book.
It’s a busy season even by Dorinda standards. She just reunited with her RHONY sisters on E!’s The Golden Life, which premiered October 20 — where her Palm Beach storyline has her preparing for this very book launch — and per People, she’s still hosting her SiriusXM show Reality Checked four days a week and DJing on the side.
The 247 Take — Most Housewives memoirs arrive with a press release. Dorinda’s arrives with a power drill, a plate of lasagna and a tour where the book is in your hand before she says a word. Sixty looks good when it’s this booked.
