Jonathan Majors Gets More Bad News Following MCU Firing!

Yale graduate Jonathan Majors was on the high road to success after wowing audiences with LoveCraft Country and The Last Black Man in San Francisco, Creed III and his MCU rold as Kang, but that is all over now thanks to his recent verdict in court…

CelebnMusic247.com reports that Jonathan Majors career in acting is quickly being flushed down the toilet and there is no chance of an Oscar in the near future since his Taxi Driver style role has now been pulled from ever seeing the light of day aka the big screen.

Majors upcoming December 2023 release got put on ice after he was found guilty. First he lost his massive role in the MCU which gauranteed him the lead villain in the upcoming Avengers movies. Then the Disney-owned studio Searchlight Pictures shelved the Magazine Dreams movie where his performance was compared the performance to Robert De Niro’s unforgettable portrayal as the titular character in Martin Scorsese’s Taxi Driver.

Jonathat was the next Denzel, until the guilty verdict. He has now become the next Jason Mitchell, who was dropped from his movies, reps, PR and studios.

Previously, it was reported that Magazine Dreams, a Majors-led drama from the Disney-owned studio Searchlight Pictures, had been pulled from its December 2023 release. Per THR, it’s now been revealed that the film may have its release entirely shelved. Officially, Searchlight has stayed completely silent on Majors’ legal battle and the potential release plans for Magazine Dreams, but insiders reportedly say that they “do not see a scenario in which Searchlight opens the movie on the big screen.” It’s also seen as highly unlikely that the film will even go straight to streaming, such as on Disney+ or Hulu, as the marketing would be too “problematic,” given the film’s themes of violence and Majors’ real-life conviction for assault and harassment.

The bright side here for Majors is that there’s still a chance that Magazine Dreams will ultimately see its release somehow, even if it won’t be with any association with Disney. Some sources close to the project reportedly believe a release elsewhere is possible if Searchlight ends up returning the rights to the filmmakers, who could then potentially shop around the film to other distributors. There may still be some challenges with finding a new buyer, however, given Majors’ attachment as an executive producer along with being the film’s lead star.

What will help the movie’s odds of seeing the light of day is its high acclaim it had garnered ahead of Majors’ legal troubles. Magazine Dreams had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in 2023, about two months before Majors was arrested. It had been touted as an iconic performance from Majors, who had spent 18 months in training for his preparation for his role as a bodybuilder in the film. Some critics had even compared the performance to Robert De Niro’s unforgettable portrayal as the titular character in Martin Scorsese’s Taxi Driver, and reportedly, Searchlight was plotting an awards season campaign with the film.

Magazine Dreams was written and directed by Elijah Bynum. It stars Majors as an aspiring bodybuilder who struggles greatly with fame and violence amid his journey to become a superstar. Haley Bennett, Taylour Paige, and Mike O’Hearn also star.
