CelebnMusic247.com reports that the DS4EVER rapper turned himself in to police custody on Wednesday morning, almost two days after he was first named in a 88-page racketeering indictment involving fellow rapper Young Thug.
Gunna is believed to have a drug problem, as he frequently raps about drug addiction. Many of his songs mention codeine, and in his hit song “Codeine,” Gunna talks about being be a heroin abuser.
In the song, he raps:
Where I’m from, they shootin’ sh*t up odee (no cap)
Probably ’cause we ain’t got no OGs
Don’t start judgin’ if you don’t know me
Had a bad relationship with codeine (lean)
Well, whatever drug Gunna is used to getting, he’s clearly not getting it behind bars. And the rapper is going through it.
Two people close to Gunna have been talking about the rapper’s struggles on social media. One man, who refers to himself as Gunna’s “childhood friend” said that the rapper is going through “withdrawal.”
His third album DS4Ever was released in 2022, becoming his second consecutive number one album.
