CelebnMusic247.com reports that Dr. Dre’s attorney has denied Snoop Dogg’s claims that he owns the masters to Dr. Dre’s classic album, The Chronic.

Dre’s attorney Howard King said in a statement to Complex:

There are false reports out regarding ownership by Death Row of Dr. Dre’s The Chronic. Dr. Dre owns 100 percent of The Chronic.

However, last week Snoop Dogg spoke with TIDAL about what Death Row Records masters he owns saying:

As far as 2Pac’s masters, 2Pac’s masters came back to him last year. But I got a great relationship with his estate, and I’m pretty sure we’re going to be able to work something out … to continue some Death Row 2Pac business now that Snoop Dogg is in control of Death Row. Same with Dr. Dre and The Chronic. I got The Chronic album. I got Doggystyle, Tha Doggfather, Murder Was the Case, Dogg Food, Above the Rim. I got all those records.

This is interesting, because we all know that Dr. Dre is probably not cool with Snoop owning his masters.

Suge Knights son Suge Jacob Knight considers Snoop’s ownership of the label co-founded by his father to be a “victory for the West Coast.”

Jacob considers to be in need of a win following the recent deaths of local icons, like Nipsey Hussle and Kobe Bryant.

Knight said he was aware of the acquisition being in the works. He confessed that he even approached the label’s previous execs about rebranding Death Row, but nothing came from his pitch. – Complex
