Bre-Z talk about her character Freda Gatz and how people come up to her saying “I’m sorry about your dad” and she like “what?” Empire fans tend to confuse her character for who she is in real life!
The first part of the interview is interesting because she talks about ghostwriting for some major players in the music industry.
What you might not know about Bre-Z?
Bre-Z is a rapper in the music industry, so playing Freda Gatz was no problem, but the barber turned Empire star talks about her real life vs playing Freda Gatz. She has written for rappers like The Game, Freeway and pop star Jennifer Lopez, she reveals that she has 4 songs on the Empire soundtrack. She also says that part of her contract with the Lea and Lee Daniels, she made sure that all her music on the soundtrack is her own.
She talks about working with Terrence Howard, Taraji P Henson and how they are really cool people to work with. She reveals that she is closest to Terrence Howard out of all the cast members.
Then things take a turn when Charlamagne tries to call her “a butch”!
Charlamagne tries to be funny while talking to Bre-Z asking if she “unapologetically butch.” She instantly shuts Charlamagne saying that she is “NOT a butch”! Then he comes at her again saying that a lot of men would like to her that she likes penis. She tells him again she is NOT a lesbian!
She spits a freestyle and when she is done, Charlamagne checks her saying that she talks about “a lot of b—ches on her box.”
The “Red Bottom B-tch” rapper checks him again, asking “what I gotta do Charlamagne?” She tells him again she is NOT a lesbian. The incident is playful, but Char really tried hard to pull some dirt out of the interview and she was NOT having it!
