CelebNMusic247.com reports that MC Lyte, 49, filed for divorce in Los Angeles on Monday after three years of marriage.

According to the divorce papers, Lyte cited irreconcilable differences.

Since the pair didn’t have any kids together, it could be a smooth divorce.

It looks like MC has scrubbed her Instagram since there aren’t any recent photos of John.

In the summer of 2017, MC and John tied the knot at a beach resort in Montego Bay, Jamaica.

They started dating in 2016 after meeting on Match.com.

The legendary rapper reportedly spent months talking to John Wyche, who is a Marine and entrepreneur, then decided to meet up with him during a weekend for her “Hip Hop Sisters” foundation called W.E.A.L.T.H. Experience.

Apparently, John was also looking for love online and a week before MC Lyte arrived in Miami for the event.

He told Essence magazine:

At that moment I asked the Lord for my wife for the first time. The following week I met Lana.

Following their marriage back in 2017 at the Sandals Royal Caribbean Resort in Montego Bay, Jamacia – Wyche told the outlet, adding:

It’s incredible so many people came out to support our union. We are starting out with a strong foundation. A few months into getting to know Lana I knew I wanted this woman as my wife.

Lyte is known for her hit songs “Cha Cha Cha,” “Poor Georgie,” and “Ruffneck” which help launch the careers of Queen Latifah and other female rappers.
