CelebNMusic247.com has the latest via sources about Taylor Swift speaking on that moment at the 2009 MTV VMAs when Kanye West made it the best worst night of her life.
Now, a decade later, the “You Need to Calm Down” crooner revealed her private reaction to the feud-generating fiasco — straight from her personal diary!
The 29-year-old Grammy winner Taylor Swift included excerpts from her journal entries as part of the deluxe version of her seventh studio album Lover.
Taylor is airing all that happened that night for all to read.
Swift details her feelings five days after Yeezy ruined Tay’s big moment after winning the Moon Man for You Belong With Me on September 18, 2009.
She wrote:
Ahh… the things that can change in a week. If you had told me that one of the biggest stars in music was going to jump on stage and announce that he thought I shouldn’t have won on live television, I would’ve said, ‘That stuff doesn’t really happen in real life.’ Well… apparently…. It does.
At the time ay was only 19 when West interrupted her mid-speech to declare the award should have actually gone to Beyoncé for Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It).
In case you ne er saw it, Kanye stormed the stage grabbing the microphone from a shocked and rather helpless Taylor.
‘Ye memorably stated:
Yo Taylor, I’m really happy for you, I’mma let you finish, but Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time. One of the best videos of all time!
You might also remember that was the same night he was boozed up drinking out of a bottle of Henny on the red carpet.
Kanye eventually apologized, writing in a blog post:
I’m sooooo sorry to taylor swift and her fans and her mom. I spoke to her mother right after and she said the same thing my mother would’ve said. She is very talented! … I really feel bad for Taylor and I’m sincerely sorry!
Back then, she accepted his apology.
Instead of trashing him in a song, Taylor took the high road and the starlet wrote the track was an “open letter” to *someone* she forgave for “what he said in front of the whole world.”
At that time in her career, Swift told New York magazine:
I think a lot of people expected me to write a song about him. But for me it was important to write a song to him.
Of course, her forgiving attitude changed years later when West reignited their feud by calling Swift “that bitch” in his track Famous. It also prved to everyone that his apology was empty and only done for public appearance. The lyric in the songe was NEVER apporved, despite Kanye’s wife Kim Kardashian West leaking a phone call conversation between the two artists appearing to show her approving a different line. Kim tried to twist the truth and make her husband look innocent when he was wrong from the jump.
According to an August 2016 diary entry amid her feud with the Wests, Tay was ready for war this time.
She wrote:
This summer is the apocalypse.
We don’t blame her one bite. Payback time!
