If you made it to the long sold out tour of The Cure at Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountainview, California then you know the show was nothing less than AWESOME!
Robert Smith and his brigade best know as The Cure lit up the stage at Shoreline for a little over three hours of incredible music from their catalog that spans over Forty years of great original music and one of the main bands of the goth movement. Like their performance at BottleRock 2013, The Cure delighted diehard fans with songs from Head on the Door, Disintegration, Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Wish, Seventeen Seconds, Faith, The Top, Wild Mood Swings and more as fans sang along like an acapella choir. Within their set The Cure played several new tunes that had a heavy dark and melodic tone, going back to that real goth style that Cure fans love.
This means a new Cure album is obviously on the horizon, and maybe another tour in 2017 once the new album drops, so here’s to crossing fingers. As always, Robert Smith made sure to have stunning visuals from the combination of vast, colorful saturated stage lights & multi media screen imagery. The band covered every dynamic musically from progressive pop stylings of Last Dance to the funk dance of Hot Hot Hot. To the gritty & heaviness of It Can Never Be the Same. All in all a fabulous show & the Cure are on point, which much more stamina & musical prowess way beyond their contemporaries. Bottom line, with Smith’s matured vocals making them better than ever. A spectacular evening of music from one of the most original and talented bands of my generation.
