CelebNMusic247.com would like to introduce you to Oh Wonder, the London-based duo Anthony West and Josephine Vander Guch who are currently touring in support of their critically acclaimed sophomore album, Ultralife.
Oh Wonder debut project in 2015 saw them release one track every month for a year on Soundcloud and Spotify, culminating in an incredibly successful campaign, particularly on streaming platforms.
They are continuing their success with Ultralife, and if you are heading out to BottleRock Napa this weekend, you can see them perform live.
The band’s self-titled debut album has since had nearly 500 million streams, with over 300 million from Spotify alone who have heavily supported the band since they started out and were selected to feature in Spotify’s UK & Global Spotlight campaign.
In an era in which pop careers require careful planning, Oh Wonder are an anomaly. They’re a band formed by accident not design, a duo who didn’t intend to play live but spent more than a year touring the world, and a major label act who never saw this being anything other than a DIY project. Ultralife is both Oh Wonder’s extraordinary second album and their debut proper. Ultralife’s luminescent lead single and title track sums up Oh Wonder’s new-found self-assurance and vaulting ambition. Easily the most up-tempo song they’ve ever released, it’s a slinky, sensual, piano and beats-driven burst of pure joy itching to soundtrack the start of summer. The albums second single, “High On Humans” is a track that finds new pertinence in the world today, describing the extraordinary power of interaction with everyday people.
