Marvel Movie Update: Avengers Thor & Man of Steel

Marvel Movie Update: Avengers Thor & Man of Steel!!!

We have your Marvel Movie Update on The Avengers, Thor & Man of Steel, but there are a few changes to Marvel Movie Superhero films when it comes to Avengers Thor & Man of Steel.

There are going to be some changes in The Avengers franchise, which might be drastic for some and considered growth for others. But that is NOT the only film that has changes in the Marvel Universe. Man of Steel 3 does NOT have a director at the helm. Although everyone is claiming it to be part 2, we beg to differ since Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is supposed to be Man of Steel 2.

As for Chris Hemsworth as Thor – he will appear in the next few Avengers film and one more Thor, but we don’t have word if he will sign another Marvel contract for more at this point.

Avengers: Infinity War ENDS The Avengers as We Know Them!!!

Since Robert Downey Jr. contract to Iron Man in the solo and Avengers films is done, the fate of Avengers will change unless Downey changes his mind.

As for The Avengers franchise, those of you who saw Avengers: Age of Ultron know that its conclusion left us with an Avengers team that was quite different. It was phasing out Iron Man and any actor who was basically not returning as their superhero. Avengers: Infinity War will bring the end to the team as we know them.

Marvel Studios executive Jeremy Latcham shared the eventual fate of the team, saying that Avengers: Infinity War will have some major changes for some of the characters.

He states:

Avengers: Infinity War “definitely is an end to some version of the team that we’ve come to know as The Avengers”.

Since Downey is a questionable return as Iron Man, We previously reported that Chris Evans said that he is open to do more Captain America films, which includes The Avenger franchise.

In addition, you need to know this about the Avengers franchise:

“The team will be evolving. One of the things we loved in the comics is the rosters always changing and you could pick up a new issue of the comics ten years later and you don’t recognize the people on the cover. But the ideas and ideals that make The Avengers still exist, and I think that’s part of what makes this culmination will be: we’re seeing this version of the team doing this thing to save this universe, this galaxy, however you want to put it, and we’ll see where this goes.”

With Iron Man and Hawkeye wanting to spend more time with their loved ones, Thor going back to Asgard, and Hulk missing, Captain America and Black Widow found themselves shorthanded. To fill this gap, they recruited War Machine, Vision, Falcon, and Scarlet Witch to make up the New Avengers. However, judging from Latchem’s comments, it sounds like the team shakeup will be even more radical following their upcoming clash with Thanos.

Although the Avengers: Infinity War movies are set to be Marvel’s biggest films yet, it’s still unclear who will appear beyond core Avengers like Iron Man and Captain America, though many suspect that almost every major hero from the MCU (including possibly a few from TV) will show up to do battle against the Mad Titan. No doubt the battle will be a spectacle that may result in notable casualties, but as of now we just we don’t know if any of the current heroes will still be on the team or even active in Phase Four. It’s possible that the next iteration of Avengers will be entirely composed of new heroes, like Doctor Strange, Black Panther, and Captain Marvel. That would certainly line up with what Latchem is saying. The team may not be filled with the same people post-2019, but their mission and ideals will still be the same, and that’s what counts in the long run.CinemaBlend

We’ll see the Avengers status quo start shifting when Avengers: Infinity War Part I is released on May 4, 2018, followed by Part II on May 3, 2019.

Warner Bros./Man of Steel

Warner Bros./Man of Steel

There is a change-up for Man of Steel when it comes to the director. Apparently Mad Max: Fury Road director George Miller, who was RUMORED to be taking on the Man of Steel 2 is NOT going to be the man to helm the project.

Word is Miller confirmed that meetings with Warner Bros. for him to direct a DC movie did occur, but that the chances of him doing it are small. Miller shared that his hopes are that his next film is “a very small film without any special effects and not many stunts.”

At this point the director for Man of Steel 3 is not filled, since Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is supposed to be Man of Steel 2.

With Zack Snyder recently suggesting that Batman v Superman will be a kind of sequel to Man of Steel after all. Whether Warner is planning to push forward with another dedicated Superman movie remains to be seen, but for now at least, it doesn’t look like it will be happening with Miller at the helm.

Zack Snyder is the director for the film, so maybe he will direct MOS3. He has a lot on his plate since he is scheduled to direct The Justice League Part One (2017) and Justice League Part (2019) – while producing Wonder Woman (2017) and Aquaman (2018).

Thor: Ragnarok May NOT Be Hitting Theaters Until 2017!!!

First off, we can confirm that wheels are definitely turning on Thor: Ragnarok since it has now landed director Taika Waititi, best known for What We Do in the Shadows. He is currently filming Hunt for the Wilderpeople set for 2016.

While reports claim that Taika Waititi is currently in negotiations to take the directing chair for Thor: Ragnarok. He is listed as the director for the upcoming third installment of the franchise. Waititi beat out Ruben Fleischer, Rawson Marshall Thurber, and Rob Letterman to land the spot.

As for the Thor franchise continuing after part 3, well here is what we learned about Chris Hemsworth contract which seems a bit tricky.

Supposedly Hemsworth was signed for a 6 movie contract, but in a recent Avengers 2 interview, Hemsworth revealed that he has three more movies after Age of Ultron. He even pointed to Thor 3 and two more Avengers. A bit surprising and it makes you wonder if Marvel slipped another movie into all the Avengers contracts when they pulled the double dip on the Avengers: Infinity War movies. Or maybe they just wanted his contract to end when Hiddleston’s does.

Does this mean that more of the main Avengers like Captain America could be appearing in both Avengers: Infinity War movies? Or does this mean that Thor has more of a role to play in the Infinity War that the other Avengers? It is being heavily rumored that we’ll be seeing more of Thanos in the upcoming Thor: Ragnarok…

Which leaves this burning question.

Will Thor 3 be the movie that really sets up the events of The Avengers: Infinity War? Will Thor and Loki play a bigger role than most of the other original Avengers players?

We find it interesting since Loki (Tom Hiddleston) signed a 6 movie deal, of which he’s done 3 (Thor, Thor: The Dark World, The Avengers). He will return in Thor: Ragnarok and we are guessing The Avengers: Infinity War – Part I & Part 2, but no actors have been announced yet. It has been revealed that Anthony Russo and Joe Russo will be directing the two-part movie. That will conclude Loki reign in the Marvel Universe.

What’s Up With Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk?

At the end of Avengers: Age of Ultron The Hulk went missing because he wanted to disappear from the team. He found a love interest in Black Widow, but it was short lived, so where does it leave the Hulk?

Lastly is Mark Ruffalo may be the perfect choice to play The Hulk, but the gamma ray infected superhero was recently cut out of the upcoming Captain America Civil War and we are wondering if it has anything to do with his contract.

The Hulk is under a 6 movie contract which at this point might take Ruffalo into his 60s. Ruffalo recently revealed that Universal still owns the rights to solo Hulk movies, which might be something that Disney and Marvel Studios is working on in order to strike up a Sony/Spider-Man style arrangement.

let us not forget that the Guardians of The Universe will also be adding to the Avengers and so will Ant Man, so the changes will be affecting all the films since they are linked and made with crossover storylines.

We will keep you posted…
