BAD NEWS: Cleveland Browns OL Coach Andy Moeller Suspended, according to the team who announced the news on Monday.

Andy Moeller, offensive line coach has been indefinitely suspended by the Cleveland Browns because of an alleged assault.

Here is what left tackle Joe Thomas had to say about Andy Moeller being indefinitely suspended.

Thomas says:

“Yes, he was here this morning.”

“He told us that he is dealing with some personal things and might be gone for a while. That is all we heard.”

The team released the following statement about the decision.

“Browns offensive line coach Andy Moeller has been suspended indefinitely by the team effective immediately. Over the weekend, Andy was involved in an incident, involving allegations that we take very seriously. We have followed our internal protocol, determining that right now it is best for the team and for Andy to take time away from the organization to focus on his personal matters. We are going to respect the process of investigation on this personal matter and will have no further comment at this time.”

Moeller is in his second season as the Browns offensive line coach. Last season four of his offensive linemen played every snap of all 16 regular season games and Thomas was selected as a first team all pro and was selected to his eighth pro bowl.

Obviously, disappointed that he is suspended,” Thomas said. “I guess we are just going to take a wait and see approach. At this point, nobody really knows what is going on.”

Moeller is the son of former Michigan head coach Gary Moeller. Before joining the Browns, Moeller coached the offensive line of the Baltimore Ravens from 2008 through 2013.

During his time with the Ravens, Moeller was arrested for a DUI and was suspended by the NFL for the first two games of the 2011 season.
