If you were looking forward to the Coach reboot this season we are sorry to reveal that NBC Pulls The Plug On The Coach Reboot.

Yeah, it’s NOT gonna happen anymore!

CelebNMusic247.com has just got word that NBC’s revival series Coach, which was set to star Craig T. Nelson in a return to his iconic role as Hayden Fox is NOT happening anymore.

It was revealed back in March that reboot was ordered straight-to-series with a 13 episode run. Instead, the network wanted to make sure that people were still interested in Coach, so they opted to take it one episode at a time rather than film all at once. Unfortunately with only the pilot in the can, THR reports that the series has been cancelled.

Could the reboot have been flat and not entertaining?

The original series starred Nelson as a passionate, but beleaguered college football coach caring for his family, and lasted nine seasons on ABC. The revival was set to pick up 18 years after the 1997 finale, with Nelson’s coach now retired when his son, the new coach at an Ivy League school in Pennsylvania, calls him out of retirement to serve as his assistant coach.

In fact, Andrew Ridings (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt) was set to co-star as Hayden Fox’s son with original cast member Bill Fagerbakke poised to reprise his role as Michael “Dauber” Dybinski. Coach was scheduled for a mid-season premiere and no reason for the cancellation has been provided at this time.

It appears that Coach didn’t make the cut for a revival series reboot like other series that fits the “everything old is new again” ethos. Shows like X-Files, Full House, Twin Peaks, and NBC’s own Heroes are making the list in an effort to capitalize on our rampant culture of consumer nostalgia, hopefully making some good TV in the process.
