Josie Edwards is having the kind of year most new artists only get to watch happen to somebody else. Her single “Chemical Light” has passed 114 million views on TikTok, and today (Wednesday, October 21, 2026) it gets its official music video, directed by Logan Meis — the director behind work for Shaboozey and GIVĒON, per Sacks & Co.

The song is the standout of her EP Greetings From Bleak St., released earlier this summer on Good Girls Music Group / AWAL Recordings. The six-track set — “Gravedigger,” “Burgundy Place,” “The Poet and Her Vice (Happy Ending),” “Hide Away,” “Dog Prophecies” and “Chemical Light” — follows her 2025 debut EP good girls, and together the two releases have carried Edwards past 110 million career streams, per the label announcement.

From a small town in Indiana to Spotify’s EQUAL program

Edwards comes from a small town in northern Indiana and is now based in Nashville, and the rise has not gone unnoticed inside the industry: last month Spotify named her a U.S. EQUAL Ambassador, part of the platform’s global initiative for equity and representation for women in music.

The live résumé is catching up with the streaming numbers just as fast. She has already toured Europe with Myles Smith and shared stages with Of Monsters and Men and Twenty One Pilots. This fall she splits her time between her own Greetings From Bleak Street Tour and a run of dates supporting Michelle Branch — several of those Branch shows, including Boston’s Roadrunner, New York’s Beacon Theatre and Chicago’s House of Blues, are already sold out, per the tour announcement.

California gets the last word in December

For CelebnMusic247 readers, the dates that matter land at the end of the run. Edwards plays Cafe Du Nord in San Francisco on December 15, The Echo in Los Angeles on December 16, and the Voodoo Room at House of Blues in San Diego on December 17, all headline shows closing out the tour.

The 247 Take — A TikTok number can be an accident; a sold-out support run, a Spotify ambassadorship and a headline tour in the same season is not. “Chemical Light” is the song that opened the door, and this video is Edwards walking through it like she plans to stay.
