61 People Arrested At Summer Jam
It was chaos on Sunday night after non-ticket holders RUSHED the entrance at MetLife Stadium resulting in 61 People Arrested At Summer Jam.
CelebNMusic247.com has this report about the fiasco during Hot 97’s Summer Jam, the annual hip-hop concert presented by WQHT-FM:
The New Jersey State Police said on Monday that ten officers sustained minor injuries during scuffles at an entrance gate as some attendees tried to force their way inside by climbing fences or pushing past security, the police said.

Following the initial disturbance just after 7 p.m., dozens of officers, some dressed in riot gear, lined the entrance, closing the gate even to ticketholders. Videos on social media showed some in the crowd outside reacting by throwing trash and bottles toward the officers.
“Noise generators, pepper spray and tear gas were used to disperse people who refused to clear the area outside of the main gate,” the State Police said in a statement.
A majority of those arrested were charged with disorderly conduct. Other charges included assault, trespassing and possession of a weapon. There were 51 arrests at Summer Jam last year, resulting in an increased trooper presence this year, the police said.
Hot 97 said in a statement that those with tickets who were not able to enter the show, which featured Kendrick Lamar, Chris Brown and a cameo by Nicki Minaj, would be offered a refund.
“We are not jeopardizing the whole event for a few dummies,” Ebro Darden, the station’s morning show host, said in a post on Instagram. “My apologies to anyone left out, but I will never allow this event to be ruined by some lazy idiots that didn’t wanna spend $40 on some tickets.”
The station declined to comment further.
