Tory Lanez BLASTS Video Director For Colorism on Latest Video

Tory Lanez is the real MVP for hip hop! Tory Lanez is putting his latest video director on BLAST for trying to replace a darker complexion model for a lighter model.

The “Talk To Me” rapper states that he is “Not going to allow any of these directors to de-value our Black women.” Read on to why Tory Lanez BLASTS video director…

CelebNMusic247.com reports that Tory Lanez is making headlines after he posted himself on the set of the “Good Love” video with Nafe Smallz.

In the video clip that Torey Lanez posted on social media, you see him jamming to the music with a beautiful dark skin woman, but Lanez notices that his director removes the dark-skinned woman for a lighter black woman with blonde highlights.

Tory immediately asks for a time out and has the darker skinned model back in position, and gets what he wants since it is his video.

He made it clear he wanted the first model, but still told the second one,

You look beautiful by the way.

The dark skin model goes back into the shot as she and Lanez continue with the video. Lanez also wrote a caption to go along with the clip he posted and called out the director for colorism, saying it’s something he sees frequently.

This is an On-Going problem in our community of entertainment that needs to stop. As a black man, Sometimes I’m going to joke about the black community just like we all do. BUT WHAT IM NOT GOING TO DO IS ALLOW ANY OF THESE DIRECTORS TO DE-VALUE OUR BLACK WOMEN … countless times I’ve seen directors swap out our women of color for women of lighter complexion, or women with straighter hair ETC . … IT IS OUR RESPONSIBILITY AS ARTIST TO STAND UP AND NOT LET THIS HAPPEN… it’s BEEN time to embrace our woman of color #BlackIsBeautiful“

The only problem we noticed is that this time the director (Capone x Guise) moves quickly by the darker black woman. #SMH

The final product of the video has been released, and Lanez saluted Smallz for keeping the first woman in the video.

Shoutout @nafesmallzfor keeping shorty in the video.

We would like to point out that the scene on Torey’s Instagram was NOT in the video. The dark skinned model was in the video but still lighter skinned black women were featured.
