Tinashe Backtracks on Colorism Statemtent After Backlash

CelebNMusic247.com feels that Tinashe is a good singer, but she has yet to make an impact with a mega hit like Beyonce and Rihanna, so what is she talking about.

Tinashe needs to understand sometimes it takes longer. Like, Rick Ross, who admitted it took ten years before his career started. She has only been in the business since 2008.

Tinashe Weighs in and Get SLAMMED:

Yesterday, Tinashe voiced her frustrations about the unfair boxes women are painted into Then she decided to put her career woes on the backs Beyonce and Rihanna instead of herself saying:

“There are hundreds of [male] rappers that all look the same, that sound the same, but if you’re a black woman, you’re either Beyoncé or Rihanna. It’s very, very strange.” After it was suggested that Ciara made a go of it, Tinashe agreed, saying “It felt like they almost had to sacrifice someone because there wasn’t enough room, which isn’t true. Ciara’s an amazing artist, Beyoncé’s an amazing artist, Rihanna’s an amazing artist, and they’re all very different!”

We understand what she is saying about hundreds of male rappers sounding the same, but they’re disposable for labels. Here today gone tomorrow.

That didn’t keep the the 24-year-old singer-songwriter, dancer, actress, and former model from weighing in on the colorism involved in the black community.

Tinashe went on to say:

“There’s colorism involved in the black community, which is very apparent, It’s about trying to find a balance where I’m a mixed woman, and sometimes I feel like I don’t fully fit into the black community; they don’t fully accept me, even though I see myself as a black woman. That disconnect is confusing sometimes. I am what I am.”

She made valid points in both statements, but society is hypersensitive and can’t handle the real truth like that. The “2 On” singer is the Cassie of today. He music is good, but its NOT banging like Bey or Rih Rhi. She needs to come harder than this. To be real Tinashe is a less impressive than a Ciara album. She can write and sing, but she NEEDS to really step it up and stop blaming the heavy hitters in her genre.

There may be hundreds of rappers, but that all have club bangers that made a name for each of them. Tinashe has “2 on” with Schoolboy Q, but nothing as good since.

Today, Tinashe says her colorism statement was taken out of context. She tweeted:
