Tiffany Haddish Cancels Atlanta Show Over Georgia’s 'Heartbeat' Law

When is it not a woman’s right to do what is right for her body? Apparently, Georgia has joined with Alabama and their ridiculous new restrictive abortion law.

Actress and comedian Tiffany Haddish is speaking out in protest by NOT performing at the Fox Theatre this month in opposition to Georgia’s controversial “heartbeat law.” Read on…

Tiffany Haddish Cancels Atlanta Show Over Georgia’s 'Heartbeat' Law

CelebNMusic247.com reports that Tiffany Haddish show was scheduled for June 22 but due to Georgia ‘heartbeat’ law, the comedian has chosen NOT to perform as she feels it is a womans right to abort a baby if needed.

The law effectively bans abortion in Georgia after a fetal heartbeat is detected, which is around 6 weeks of pregnancy. Tiffany Haddish feels she cannot “in good faith” perform in Georgia unless it withdraws the so-called heartbeat bill.

“Girls Trip” star sent a statement to ticketholders Saturday  which reads as follows:

After much deliberation, I am postponing my upcoming show in Atlanta. I love the state of Georgia, but I need to stand with women and until they withdraw Measure HB481, I cannot in good faith perform there.

Fox Theatre officials said tickets will be refunded.

Haddish has not set a new date at the Fox given the uncertainty regarding the law, which largely restricts abortions after six weeks.

She starred in in her breakthrough 2017 hit “Girls Trip” and recently voiced a character in last weekend’s No. 1 film “The Secret Life of Pets 2.” Tiffany is the first major celebrity to publicly cite the law as a reason she was postponing a live concert in the state.

It is sad because the actress has shot several films in Atlanta the past couple of years such as “Nobody’s Fool,” “Night School and “Uncle Drew.” And most recently she filmed her upcoming comedy “Limited Partners,” also starring Rose Byrne.

Haddish is NOT the only one who feels this way. Major Hollywood studios have said they may reevaluate filming in Georgia if the law goes into effect, via WSBTV.

We expect the backlash to grow…
