The Flaming Lips hit the music scene in 1983 with their debut album, and since then they have become an American staple in music.
Yesterday the Oklahoma psychedelic alternative rock band proved that they’re still going strong delivers a great show at the Bottle Rock Festival. Despite all the personal dramas of battling divorce that frontman Wayne Coyne, he still finds ways to get things out of you. The 52 year old may be writing about hopes of dying and an overwhelming pain, in the lugubrious notes that accompany the album, but he was upbeat and friendly on stage.
Lead singer Coyne came out with a baby doll that he chewed on between verses and songs. the cord you see above simulate umbilical cords that the band was attached too…so if you wanna shock a crowd this was one way to do it and we loved every second.
The set was a bit darker than norm, but it seems everyone in the world has their own personal demons – the only good thing is The Flaming Lips can sing about it and vent in a creative way and share their issues with thousands of fans…
