Raiders Re-Sign Safety Taylor Mays and DL C.J. Wilson

Raiders Re-Sign safety Taylor Mays and DL C.J. Wilson!!!

With Oakland Raiders Safety Nate Allen out due to a knee injury Raiders Re-Sign safety Taylor Mays and DL C.J. Wilson on Tuesday.

CelebNMusic247.com has this report that Raiders Nation is bringing back Taylor Mays.

Mays participated during the preseason with Oakland, comes on the heels of losing starting safeties Nate Allen to an MCL injury, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, and Charles Woodson to a dislocated shoulder, per Dan Gartland of SI.com.

As for, Just a few weeks ago, Mays was a member of the Detroit Lions, but he asked to be released, per Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press Twitter feed:

Detroit granted his request, and Mays signed with the Raiders a few days later.

The safety has been unable to live up to the hype surrounding him after coming out of USC as one of the nation’s most dominant defensive backs. Mays has started just four games in the past four seasons, but Oakland needs as much help as it can get after giving up almost 400 yards to the Bengals.

As for defensive tackle C. J. Wilson, he will make his return to Oakland to try to bolster a defensive line that allowed over 100 rushing yards to the Bengals.

Wilson recorded 16 tackles and two sacks with the Raiders last season. In order to make room for Wilson, the Raiders released tight end Gabe Holmes.

It looks like a patchwork defense for a Raiders side that struggled mightily against Andy Dalton and the Bengals, reports Joe Pantorno of the BleacherReport.

Raiders Bid Farewell To Linebacker Sio Moore!?!

On Friday afternoon the Oakland Raiders Bid Farewell To Linebacker Sio Moore announcing on Twitter that he is parting ways with the organization.

The NFL’s third round of the 2013 draft, aka Sio Moore is no longer part of Raider Nation, but he has already found a new home with the Indianapolis Colts.

CelebNMusic247.com has this report via NBC News:

The Raiders traded the mercurial talent for a 2016 sixth-round pick on Friday after shopping him around in recent days, when it became certain Moore wasn’t a fit for these new Raiders. Both teams confirmed the trade on Friday evening

That’s a fast fall for someone expected to be the team’s weakside linebacker in 2015. Moore started 22 games in his first two NFL seasons, but had fallen out of favor with head coach Jack Del Rio and his staff. A schism started to show during the second half of training camp, and it eventually became clear the relationship between coach and player had eroded beyond repair.

Moore had to go. That’s why this trade isn’t a surprise, though it would’ve been shocking a month ago.

Moore’s talent is undeniable, and his departure represents a powerful move by Del Rio prior to the regular season. It shows Del Rio’s willingness to clean out players who don’t fit well.

Moore is a talented linebacker with an early track record of success, playing for a team that doesn’t have a ton of talented depth.

What we have learned is that the coaching staff didn’t like his attitude in recent weeks, or his reaction to earning playing time despite all over again. Apparently this played a big part in the Raiders Nation’s decision to trade Sio to the Colts.
