Stone Temple Pilots Back with New Singer Jeff Gutt

Jeff Gutt brings back the golden sound of Stone Temple Pilots back in the 90s with great vocal range. The rock iconic Sand Diego native band which includes brothers Dean DeLeo and Robert DeLeo, Eric Kretz and Jeff Gutt for a new era of Stone Temple Pilots.

Stone Temple Pilots kicked off their first live show at the Troubadour in Los Angeles back in November as a test run, after the passing of original lead singer Scott Weiland. He died from an accidental drug overdose in December 2015. The band toured that same year (2015) with the late Chester Bennington of Linkin Park, but with Jeff Gutt on lead vocals, we look forward to Stone Temple Pilots.

After Scott’s death, bassist Robert DeLeo, guitarist Dean DeLeo and drummer Eric Kretz – began a year-long search for a new singer. The band had over 15,000 submissions and hosted 50 auditions before hiring Gutt, a former member of nu-metal act Dry Cell and a recent contestant on The X Factor. – Rolling Stone

Dean DeLeo told Rolling Stone:

“Mr. Weiland paved quite a way. Because not just anybody can sing this catalog. You need someone who really knows how to sing. And Jeff kind of has it all, man. He has that baritone, and he’s also able to get into that tenor world. He’s a real singer.”

Their current tour is literally selling out at each venue, so if you don’t have tickets to see them we suggest you jump on it.
