Paul Walker‘s Death Detailed as a Solo Car Accident

Almost four months after the tragic death of Paul Walker the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has determined that the accident was caused by excessive speed.

Walker’s crash was caused by high speed, NOT mechanical failure, which resulted in a fiery crash that killed The Fast and the Furious actor. It has been determined that Paul Walker and his friend were driving the vehicle at around 90 mph, according to a report released today.

CelebNMusic247.com has learned via the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and CA Highway Patrol investigation, electronic information retrieved from the burned-out car’s computer systems determined the speed of the car.

The 38-year-old Roger Rodas was driving the 2005 Porsche Carrera GT at speeds between 80 and 93 mph when the car smashed into a pole and a tree in Santa Clarita.

“Investigators determined the cause of the fatal solo-vehicle collision was unsafe speed for the roadway conditions,” sheriff’s Cmdr. Mike Parker said. The coroner’s office estimated in January that the car was likely being driven at more than 100 mph on Hercules Street at Kelly Johnson Parkway around 3:30 p.m. Nov. 30. Rodas and Walker, 40, both died at the scene. No evidence of drugs or alcohol was found in either man, coroner’s officials said.

According to the sheriff’s investigation, the car’s tires were more than nine years old, but there was no evidence of any mechanical failures, including the powertrain, fuel system, steering, suspension, electrical system or brakes.

“During the examination, it was determined that an after-market exhaust system had been installed which would have increased the engine’s horsepower,” Parker said.

There was also no evidence that Rodas and Walker were racing another vehicle, according to the report. Both men were wearing seatbelts, and airbags deployed for both, according to the report.
