Noise Pop is announcing today an array of local Bay Area vendors and merchants set to participate in the sixth annual 20th Street Block Party taking place Saturday, August 18 from noon to 6:30 p.m.

The event will once again take place just outside the doors of Noise Pop HQ along 19th and 20th Streets, between Harrison and Bryant Streets in the Mission District, and will benefit nearby neighbors Mission Language and Vocational School (MLVS). Read on…

In addition to a day of stellar music performances and delicious food offerings, Block Party-goers can enjoy an array of activities and programming from a curated mix of beloved and popular local businesses. Showga will be bringing yoga set to live music on the main stage and this healthy music hour will be presented by SAVA, a marketplace for curated cannabis goods.

Mutiny Radio, on 21st and Florida, will play host to a SAVA delivery hot-spot for anyone who wants to order for delivery during the festival. The San Francisco LowRider Council will bring choice classic and modern cars to display on 19th Street and Bryant. Deep Eddy Vodka and neighborhood favorite Amoeba Music will host Deep Eddy Vodka’s Music Mixer, where attendees can cool down with delicious vodka slushies, peruse used vinyl at Amoeba’s Pop Up Record Shop and dance to their heart’s content at the adjacent Silent Disco. Guests are encouraged to buy some vinyl for the DJ to spin for the audience. Xfinity is also joining forces with Family Dog Rescue to bring a dedicated mini dog park for our four-legged friends, providing a space for adoptable pups to play about. Don’t forget to donate to Family Dog Rescue and grab a one-of-a-kind caricature of you and your pup before you leave the party!

Attendees can also stop by Art Row, an interactive collection of creatives from the vibrant local arts community. Each year of the Block Party, event producers Noise Pop join forces with ArtSpan to paint a community mural one mini-canvas at a time. Workshop SF will be also be bringing attendees fun crafts for the DIY’er in all of us. These crafts include flower crowns, leatherworking, henna tattoos, festival hair and hair chalk, and more.

Attendees will also have a chance to experience other fun and exciting activities, such as a Lip-Sync Battle by KQED Radio featuring some extra special TBA grand prizes; surprise pop-up performances from the cast of Hedwig and The Angry Inch; double dutch; tarot card readings; and more. In addition to previously announced, music acts Empress Of, Jeff Rosenstock, The Marias, The She’s, FAN, The Total Betty’s and more, this year’s Block Party will again feature a third stage presented by the festival’s nonprofit partner MLVS. The MLVS stage will feature local DJ collectives Sazon Libre vs B Side Brujas. Stay tuned for additional announcements on this year’s program – including full performance schedule and food vendor lineup – in the coming weeks. This year’s Bandwagon stage will be presented by DoTheBay who is currently hosting the “Play 20th Street Block Party” contest where one local artist will win the final spot on this year’s lineup. Over 90 artists have entered so far and voting closes this Wednesday, August 1 at 11:59 pm.

Admission to this annual event is always free, but donations are highly suggested. The event is open to attendees of all ages, and food and drink will be available for purchase. Headliner Experience VIP tickets are also available for $99 and will offer access to several exclusive perks including a private lounge and restrooms, complimentary food and drinks, and private front-of-stage viewing area.
