After numerous reports in the blogosphere and a backlash against the Young Money rapstress, Nicki Minaj has come forward to debunk the RUMORS that she endorsed Mitt Romney in a recent rap.

On Monday, the flamboyant rapper confirmed on Twitter that she was taking literary license when she referenced the Republican nominee for president.

Personally she should have thought twice about her choice in lyrics during an election season.

Many media outlets took her words to mean she was backing President Barack Obama’s opponent. However, Obama, didn’t feel threatened by Nicki’s choice in words on the Lil Wayne mixtape on the track “Mercy.”

Nicki took to her Twitter today [Monday Sept 10th] to dispel the accusations. Minaj thanked Obama for understanding.

She said:

It’s just “my creative humor and sarcasm…the smart ones always do … (asterisk)sends love & support.”

A message sent to Minaj’s publicist was not immediately returned.
