Backstreet Boys star Nick Carter regrets his decade-long battle with drugs and alcohol because his drug binge caused his depression, which he still has to deal with.
It been six long years for Nick Carter of the Backstreet Boys, but the pop star opens up about the extent of his abuse issues in his new memoir, “Facing the Music and Living to Talk About It.”
In the memoir, Nick talks about the ugly side of himself, his addiction and the height of his problems, taking Ecstasy pills, cocaine and drank a large bottle of vodka a night.
Carter tells In Touch magazine:
“I regret taking Ecstasy. The amount I did caused changes to my brain that are responsible for my bouts of depression now.”
Did you know when taking Ecstasy, it causes deterioration of your brain and later in life it causes major depression, because that part of the brain is now gone.
But there is one section of Nick Carter’s memoir where he puts his romance with ex-girlfriend Paris Hilton on BLAST, admitting, “she was the wrong person for him at the lowest time of his life.”
He adds:
“(She) fed my worst impulses as far as partying.”
Ouch?
