We are truly heartbroken to announce that Mob Wives Star Big Ang Has Passed Away early this morning!

On last nights episode of Mob Wives, Angela “Big Ang” Raiola said that she was scared after learning that she was told she had to have another surgery after doctors told her that she had to have surgery and chemotherapy on Mob Wives tonight.

Unfortunately, Angela’s biggest fears came true. Her sister recently posted a GoFundMe page for her sister, but Big Ang has lost her lost her battle with brain and lung cancer.

Hours earlier, Ang’s team had to clear up false reports she died Wednesday evening. In December, Ang learned her cancer had returned and spread to her brain and lungs.

Jennifer Graziano confirmed the news this morning that Ang had lost her battle with cancer.

She sent us this statement:

“I am saddened to say that At 3:01 am Ang lost her battle with cancer. She passed peacefully surrounded by friends and family. My heart is broken for her whole family – especially her children and grandchildren and I will never forget her. Her presence brought sheer happiness to anyone that was around her and I am honored to have called her a friend. Please respect her family’s privacy at this time as they mourn the loss of such an amazing woman”.

Angela Riola’s grandson, Vinnie Medugno released this statement on Big Ang’s Instagram, which reads as follows:

“It is with sad regret that we inform you that at 3:01AM Angela Raiola peacefully ended her battle with cancer, and was called home. She was surrounded by nothing but love from her immediate family, and closest friends. YOU, (Her fans) were some of the most special people in her world, and she loved you immensely. Thank you for your love, prayers, and unconditional support of Angela right to the very end. She truly went out richer than any monetary value could ever amount to. The family asks for privacy, and peace during this most difficult time. In typical Big Ang fashion, we know she would say “Love you my babies!” This page will remain open as a celebration of who she was and will always be. It has been my esteemed privilege, and honor to represent her in the highest regard via social media.”

He continued:

“Everything with you was exactly what those words embodied. You lived by your own mantra. I will love you, cherish you, and hold you in my heart wherever I go, and whatever I do. Thank you for being a major part of my life. You’ve taught and brought so much to me. Sleep peacefully, and kiss my grandmother. Goodbye my love!”

After learning that she had cancer Angela said:

“I’m not here for a long time, I’m here for a good time!”

For the past five years, Ang was the face of VH1’s “Mob Wives.” Big Ang’s Mob Wives costars have been rooting for her to beat her cancer, as it’s the second time she’s dealing with the disease.  She was first diagnosed with a lemon-sized tumor in her throat that was diagnosed as cancerous, back in March of 2015. In October, Ang declared she cancer-free, but she became ill again when doctors found some cancerous nodes in her lungs that needed to be removed. Once the news broke on her condition, her sister Janine Detore revealed that Big Ang had been diagnosed with stage 4 lung and brain cancer.

Big Ang had begun chemotherapy on Jan. 5, but unfortunately that didn’t help cure her condition. One tumor had grown larger, and things quickly became more serious than her family could ever have imagined. Janine started a GoFundMe page for her sister, which surpassed its $25,000 goal in just two days.

Raiola is survived by her two kids, Raquel and Anthony, and has six grandkids.

She was only 55 years old.

We will miss Ang, she was a shinning star on Mob Wives and had a heart of gold, she carried the weight of the world for her family. She was their rock, but you would never know. She always brought a smile to our face and she was the voice of reason on Mob Wives.

We will miss her forever! God Bless Big Ang, now you can shine high above and be everyone’s angel.
