Mississippi Rejects Party Down South

Party Down South has relocated to Athens Georgia for season 2, but CMT has been having issues trying to get locations for the series, especially in Ocean Springs, Mississippi.

Mississippi say NO FILMING ALLOWED in our state!

Filming of the drunken escapades and exploits of Josh Murray, Lyle Boudreaux, Walt Windham, Ryan “Daddy” Richards, Taylor “Lil Bit” Wright, Tiffany Heinen, Mattie Breaux and Lauren White as they spend a summer in a Athens, GA and party.

CelebNMusic247.com are big fans of the reality series on CMT, but concerned southern cities are refusing to let the Party Down South cast film.

Not only has the town of Ocean Springs voiced previous concerns over the show filming there, but they have now rejected an offer from CMT to fund a town tradition in exchange for allowing the show to film there.

According to WLOX, the town of Ocean Springs rejected an offer by CMT to pay $25,000 to fund a traditional Fourth of July fireworks spectacular that may not be happening, but both citizens of the town and the aldermen balked at the check.

However, Poplarville Mississippi Wants ‘Party Down South’ To Come There?

When Tiffany and the ladies spot a good lookin’ man, Murray steps in to try and help his friends. Will he help them score a date? Watch and find out.

Town resident Colby Kennedy said:

“I hoped we didn’t do it. I’d rather have no fireworks. I mean, I’ll go down to the beach and do sparklers with my kids myself.”

Alderman John Gill also balked at the offer, which came after the board of aldermen passed a resolution on June 3 which asked the production company not to consider the city as a filming location.

He said:

“It was kind of hypocritical for us to do that to accept their money, so we looked for single sponsorship.”

Gautier City has also passed a resolution asking the show not to film there as well, marking two cities in the state of Mississippi that have vocally objected to the show filming there.

Party Down South airs Thursdays at 10 p.m. on CMT.
