Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o Calls The Oscars Unconscious Prejudice Lupita gives her views on the 2016 Oscars titled “Unconscious Prejudice”!!!
CelebNMusic247.com has the Lupita Nyong’o thought-provoking statement on the flip…
Did you hear, Lupita Nyong’o Calls The Oscars Unconscious Prejudice?
On Monday, Jada Pinkett-Smith took to Facebook calling out for a boycott of the 2016 Oscars since this is the second time in two years no black actors have been nominated.
Pinkett-Smith, spoke out since her husband, Will Smith was snubbed for his role as Dr. Bennet Omalu in Concussion. To be honest, this was NOT Will’s best work, so we see why he was over-looked. Like Leonardo, Will suffers from always seeing Will in all of his movies. Like Leonardo DiCaprio, we always see Leo in every role except for the Revenant, so we hope he gets the Oscar. As for, Will, he NEEDS to push himself or work with a director who can take him outside of Will Smith, so we don’t see Will portraying a person. Jamie Foxx, won for Ray, because he embodied Ray Charles, Will has yet done that. The Black actor who was overlooked and deserved to be there was Idris Elba for his role as the Commandant in Beasts of No Nation. The directors who was overlooked was Ryan Coogler and F Gary Gray.
But that is just our views on who should have been nominated. However, we support Lupita Nyong’o “Unconscious Prejudice” because her words speak LOUD!
Lupita, who won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in 12 Years a Slave posted this message of disappointment with the Academy.
“”Not everything that is faced can be changed. But nothing can be changed until it is faced.”
– James Baldwin”
